You need to be certified by the DMV to instruct student drivers. Approach your local DMV office for instruction pockets on how to be a certified instructor and how to process your driving school license. Source of more about it.
Check your finances
After making a good business plan, you will have an idea as to how much you will need to run the business. Get a bank loan or pitch your business to private investors.
Look for a good building location for your driving school. One that has a huge parking space for the initial driving lessons is ideal. Your location should be far from busy streets or highways to assure students of their safety.
Prepping your car/cars
It is important that your car has a sign that alerts everyone around you that it is a student driving car. If you can afford to, customize your vehicles with a secondary brake system, secondary steering wheel, and perspective mirrors. These are not really necessary but having them available will impress your clients and make them feel safer. Your cars should also have driving school insurance to cover the safety of the driving instructor and the student in case of accidents.
Write your lesson plans
Once you are certified and licensed by the DMV, you will be given DMV-certified teaching tools to help you write out your lesson plans and help determine a safe course for your students to practice driving.
Advertise your business
Advertising does not have to be expensive. Post in social media accounts regularly to promote your business. Everybody is tech-savvy and on their social media accounts most of the day so you will be hitting a huge market if you are also active in social media.
